Infection Control & Bio Hazard Training

WHS Reg 39 Training That Protects Your Licence, Not Just Your Staff

Fulfill your legislative WHS obligations with industry-certified infection and bio-hazard control training for your staff.

Move beyond simple pass/fail metrics. Our assessment suite utilizes a high-standard Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) model, delivering the "audit-ready evidence" required by ACECQA and WHS regulators.

What You Get

15-Module Certified Infection Control & Bio-Hazard Management Training

Every module is built for the 2026 Bio-Hazard Framework. This is not generic hygiene training. It is WHS Regulation 39 compliance training that produces audit-ready evidence for your centre.

How Assessment Works Move beyond pass/fail. Our Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) model means every assignment is personally marked by Lindsay Smith, founder of ECEC Workforce Solutions and author of the National Child Care System. Your staff receive detailed feedback, not just a score. Every completed module builds the verified competency logs you need for WHS and ACECQA audits.

Assessment Method

Competency-Based Assessment (CBA)

a recognised workplace-aligned assessment model used in vocational and compliance training. Participants complete 15 quiz questions and 15 assignments, with outcomes recorded as Competent (C), Partially Competent (PC), or Not Yet Competent (NYC). This marking approach confirms whether each participant has demonstrated the required knowledge, understanding, and practical application to meet the training standard.

Detailed feedback is provided for every module, identifying the participant’s competency outcome and any areas requiring correction, clarification, or resubmission.

Detailed reporting is provided for each module, creating clear evidence of the participant’s training progress, assessment outcome, feedback received, and any corrective action or resubmission required. This supports a centre’s ability to demonstrate that workers have received suitable and adequate training, and that competency has been assessed against workplace expectations if questioned by WHS regulators, authorised officers, approved providers, or Assessment and Rating assessors.

Competency Requirements

If an assignment does not meet competency, the participant is marked Partially Competent (PC) or Not Yet Competent (NYC) for that task and is provided with feedback identifying what needs to be corrected or strengthened. The participant is then given an opportunity to revise and resubmit the assignment so competency can be demonstrated before final completion or certificate issue.

Participants who complete the course but do not resubmit outstanding assignments to achieve the required competency standard will not receive a competency certificate. Instead, they may be issued a Certificate of Attendance, confirming participation in the course but not confirming competency, certification, or successful assessment completion.

Why "Staying Healthy in Childcare" is no longer enough for a WHS Audit

The March 2026 Bio-Hazard Code uses childcare as its primary case study. WHS Regulation 39 now demands structured competency training not hygiene policies or checklists. Outdated procedures will not survive your next audit.

Meet Your Lead Assessor

Real ECEC Expertise. Rigorous WHS Accountability.

When you enrol your educators in our training, their 15 competency assignments aren't graded by an automated system or a generic corporate checklist. They are personally marked by Lindsay Smith, an independent ECEC policy analyst, safety consultant, and the founder of ECEC Workforce Solutions.

Lindsay counsels providers on modern WHS and biohazard protocols, including the Safe Work Australia codes governing biological hazards in childcare spaces. She is the author of the Childcare Cleaning Standard (CCS), Australia's first published governance framework for ECEC cleaning environments, and publishes industry analysis in The Sector.

This rare combination of hands-on sector experience and published policy expertise ensures that the guidance your staff receives is both practically viable and academically bulletproof.

"My goal isn't to hand out easy pass marks; it's to ensure your staff genuinely master bio hazard management. Every assignment submission receives detailed, constructive feedback, giving your centre the verified competency logs required to confidently ace your next WHS or ACECQA audit."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answer: Right after checkout, you'll receive a group enrolment form via email. Simply fill in your educators' names and emails, send it back, and we will onboard them and send their unique login credentials within 24 hours.

Answer: No. You can lock in the volume discount tier today and activate your slots as you hire new staff or roll out the training across the year.

Yes, absolutely. The curriculum is meticulously designed to bridge the gap between daily childcare practice and strict legislative compliance.

It is specifically tailored to meet the strict verification and competency evidence standards required by WHS Regulation 39 and the 2026 Bio-Hazard Framework. Furthermore, the training aligns directly with the National Quality Standard (NQS) under ACECQA Quality Area 2 (Children's Health and Safety) and fully integrates the core principles of the Staying Healthy in Childcare (6th Edition) guidelines.

This ensures your staff aren't just following best-practice hygiene, but that you have the formal, documented compliance framework required during an assessment or WHS audit.

Upon successful completion, each educator is issued a formal Certificate of Attainment.

Furthermore, because our course utilizes a high-standard Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) model, each module's assignments are formally marked by an assessor. Educators are provided with a detailed Feedback Report for every single module.

Together, these certificates and comprehensive performance reports serve as the robust, verifiable training evidence required by ACECQA and WHS regulators to prove your centre is meeting its legislative obligations under WHS Regulation 39.

Yes, absolutely. We understand that staffing numbers can change, and we are always here to support your centre.

However, please keep in mind how this affects your volume discount. Because our pricing is structured in tiers ($180 for 1–5 slots, $140 for 6–10 slots, and $100 for 11+ slots), a refund that drops your total number of training slots into a lower tier will recalculate the price per person for your remaining slots.

Depending on your situation, it is often much more cost-effective to hold onto those extra slots. They never expire, allowing you to easily assign them to new hires or use them for future staff refreshers later in the year.

Whatever you choose, please get in touch with our team! We will always endeavour to look at your specific situation and work out the best possible solution for your centre.

We are fully committed to supporting your team every step of the way. If anyone runs into a question or needs clarification on a module, we provide three easy ways to get help:

  • In-Course Comments: You can leave a comment or question directly inside the training module, and an assessor will respond right there.

  • Email Support: Send us a quick email with your query, and our support team will get back to you promptly.

  • SMS & Call-Back Request: If you prefer to speak to someone directly, simply send us an SMS requesting assistance. Let us know your preferred time for a call-back (e.g., "ASAP" or "at 2:00 PM"), and one of our team members will call you to assist.

No matter how your team prefers to learn, they will never be left stuck or waiting.

Answer:

No, certificates are earned through demonstrated competency. Because this is a professional WHS compliance course, simply clicking through the modules is not enough to receive certification.

To graduate and receive your Certificate of Attainment, your submissions for all 15 module assignments must successfully meet our specific marking criteria.

If an assignment does not quite meet the required benchmark on your first attempt, don't worry! Our assessors will send it back to you with a clear, detailed explanation of what needs adjusting and why. You will have the opportunity to implement the feedback and resubmit. Once all 15 assignments have successfully met the marking standards, your official certificate will be issued immediately.

You will have full access to the course for 12 months from the date of purchase.

This extended access period gives your centre maximum flexibility. It allows your current educators to complete the 15 modules entirely at their own pace around their shift schedules, and to refer back to it if needed

Answer:

We understand that childcare staffing can change unexpectedly, and we want to ensure your training budget is protected.

  • Before they start: If an educator leaves your centre before they have submitted their first assignment for marking, simply let us know. We will happily reset that training slot and transfer it to your new hire at no extra cost.

  • During the course: If an educator leaves later in the course after completing some modules, we will remove their access and issue your centre with a pro-rata credit. This credit can then be applied to significantly reduce the cost of enrolling your replacement hire.

Your investment stays with your centre, ensuring your team building and compliance goals remain on track.

Answer: Incredibly fast. Once you return your completed group enrolment form, our team handles the heavy lifting. We batch-upload your entire staff list and deploy their individual login credentials within 24 hours, meaning your whole team can start building compliance by this time tomorrow.

Answer: Yes, absolutely. If your centre group or corporate office requires an invoice for company approval and direct bank transfer, please select the "Invoice / Bank Transfer" option at checkout, or get in touch with our team directly, and we will issue it to your administration department immediately.

Answer: Not at all. The course runs entirely through a standard web browser on any computer, tablet, or smartphone. The layout is incredibly simple to navigate, and downloading the module infographics or submitting assignments takes just a few clicks. If anyone ever gets stuck, our SMS support line is right there to guide them.
